Neon lights, the purples and the blues. Neo Noir is now a popular genre of TV and Film. Many people immediately connect the word Noir to just crime and black and white, and that Neo Noir is the opposite and is why there's so much colour. In fact Neo Noir is just Noir. It's not a genre any more in my humble opinion. Neo noir storeys such as Blade Runner and Drive have no genre pieces that make them any different to a classic noir tale. the only difference is that neo noir is now. contemporary or even the future. im in love with Noir but colour is a key piece of visual media. the two mix perfectly then when using the phrasing "Neo Noir". colours in contrast, the crime feel of the wet underground, and a damsel in shadow and smoke. its all just aesthetic. and an aesthetic i find truly a pleassure to look at.
